My Students

Our classroom community makes learning exciting! I teach in an elementary school with a diverse population. Some students come to school with prior experiences, but for some, it is their first time in a formal classroom.

I am amazed by their curiosity and love of learning.

My students are active and engaged in their own learning! Since kindergarten is the first formal education most will experience they are full of wonder. The more knowledge you give, the more they want to learn.

My Project

Education today can be hyper focused on traditional content areas like reading, math and science. However studies show that we should do a disservice to our students when we ignore the arts in education. These materials will make incorporating art into my classroom instruction easier and exciting for everyone! I’m asking for a wide variety of colored construction paper, glue and scissors to use in cut and glue projects. I’m also asking for different varieties of paint (tempera, watercolors, and paint markers) to give students experiences with different methods of painting. I have also added dough to explore sculpting and creating 3D art. We also need pony beads and an art station to make mixed media art projects.
