Kindergarten can be an intimidating experience. For these students many of their classroom learning experiences happen during rug time. This is where we sing, build, share, and talk about what's important to them. It's a place where we build community and learn about kindness, responsibility and respect for one another. Everyone wants to feel like they belong. In Kindergarten this often means having a place that is just for you. This rug provides the space needed so that each of my students will have their own square to sit in. This helps them to learn about how to be part of a community of learners.
