This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a first year art teacher and this year has been one of learning for me. First, I learned that watercolors are a big hit with all children but they are a lot of work to set up. Liquid water colors were suggested to me because I do not have to give water cups and napkins out. I also learned that the paper you use makes a big difference when painting with water colors. Regular art paper cannot take the wetness of water colors and the colors will blend together. Special bottles that I am requesting with lids and brushes will help me to store the liquid colors that I make so students can use and reuse these paints over and over.
Children love being creative and painting is one way they can express their creativeness!
Please help this tired teacher out. By the end of the day after waiting and cleaning up after 6 classes I am beat. But seeing the smiles on the kids faces when they start a new project or learn something new is why we do what we do!
