Every Child Belongs

Help me give my students a classroom with books, materials, and visuals that reflect our students’ cultures, languages, and identities. Representation matters and every child deserves to see themselves in the stories we share.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our classroom, we believe that every child’s story matters. Our students come from beautifully diverse backgrounds, speak multiple languages, have different family structures, and bring rich cultural traditions to our school each day.

With your support, we will build a learning environment where each child sees themselves and their friends shining.

We are requesting picture books and early readers that highlight BIPOC authors, multilingual characters, neurodiverse identities, and stories that reflect immigrant experiences, celebrate global cultures, and affirm different ways of being.

The requested dramatic play toys reflect the diversity in our classroom and will give our learners more meaningful play opportunities that extend and include our real-world community. When students see themselves reflected in the classroom, they feel safe, seen, and valued. When they learn about others with curiosity and respect, they grow into empathetic, global citizens. We are also requesting a storage unit to keep all the books organized.

Thank you for helping us create a classroom where all children feel empowered and proud to be their whole, authentic selves and know that their voices matter.
