My students are imaginative, expressive, and eager to explore the world through creativity. They come from a low-income community where access to art materials outside of school is very limited. Despite the challenges they face, they light up when given the chance to create.
This project will provide my elementary students with essential art supplies, including crayons, markers, colored pencils, watercolor paints, glue, scissors, and construction paper.
These materials will be used for art lessons, cross-curricular projects, and creative free time. Right now, our supply of art materials is extremely limited. Many students don’t have the resources to bring their own supplies, and we often run out quickly. This project will help stock our classroom with enough materials for every student to have regular access to the tools they need to express themselves and build confidence through art.
Art helps young learners develop fine motor skills, problem-solving abilities, and emotional expression. It also brings joy, reduces stress, and creates a sense of pride in their work. With these supplies, students will be able to fully participate in creative learning experiences that support both academic and personal growth.
