Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a teacher in a Title I school, resources are often limited, but the needs of my students are not. This project will provide essential supplies that will be used throughout the entire school year to create a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for my students with special needs. The books included in this project are especially meaningful—they feature characters who use wheelchairs, AAC devices, and other supports, helping my students see themselves represented and valued. These stories will teach them that while they may be different, they are just as capable and important as everyone else.
The manipulatives and sensory materials will offer hands-on, multi-sensory learning opportunities, which are critical for helping my students grasp new concepts.
High-quality headphones will allow my students to focus during independent learning activities, listen to audiobooks, or engage in adaptive programs without distractions, giving them access to the same enriching resources as their peers. Every item in this project is chosen to meet their unique learning styles and provide consistent, empowering support all year long.
