This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Creating a comfortable and engaging learning environment is essential for fostering student success. The rug, chairs, and bean bag chair will help transform our classroom into a more inviting and flexible space where students feel at ease as they collaborate, read, and work independently. Having a class set of earbuds will allow students to engage with multimedia resources—whether analyzing speeches, watching educational videos, or listening to music that connects to our curriculum—without distractions. These items will create a learning environment that is both functional and student-centered, allowing for greater focus and participation.

My goal for this project is to enhance student engagement by providing a classroom that meets different learning styles and needs.

A flexible seating arrangement will encourage collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity, while earbuds will support personalized learning experiences. By making these adjustments, I hope to foster a space where students can fully immerse themselves in discussions and projects that deepen their understanding of the world around them.

What makes my students special is their curiosity, resilience, and the rich cultural perspectives they bring to the classroom. Located in South Los Angeles, our school serves a diverse and vibrant community where students navigate unique challenges with determination and creativity. They bring powerful personal experiences into our discussions, connecting our lessons to real-world issues in meaningful ways. By creating a welcoming and adaptable learning space, I can better support their individual needs and empower them to take ownership of their education.
