This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Teaching young boys and girls is fantastic. Most of the children are economically disadvantaged and lack many things at home due to circumstances beyond their control. Despite all that has happened they came to school and still strive for excellence.
The children have been hit hard with the recent devastation to their homes.
They have returned to school and are trying to stay strong. I know they are struggling to get back to normalcy. Yet, they try to keep smiling.
My Project
My students come to school each day ready to learn and excel. Yet, it can be difficult to concentrate on learning if food at home may be limited or if daily hygiene necessities are missing. Many of the children have lost much of their homes due to the devastating hurricane that flooded their homes.
The healthy snacks that will be provided from this project will help to provide the fuel and energy these kids need to grow both physically and academically.
They will be given snack items to take home at the end of the day or over the weekends to prevent them from being too hungry.
The hygiene items will be distributed to the children, so they can come to school clean and ready to focus on learning a little bit more.
This much-needed snack food and essentials will brighten the children's day and give them one less thing to worry about. So, go ahead and help brighten their day by helping with these essentials so that learning can flourish.
