This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My Kindergartens students are creative , full of curiosity and excitement to grow their brains. Due to the pandemic last year for some it's their first year in a school setting. They are ready to learn all the skills needed to survive and conquer kindergarten. All the knowledge they will learn is their power to use to shape their future. This can happen by creating culturally relevant spaces to enhance their love for learning. I strongly believe in students leading the culture. Even as kindergarten they have the capabilities of tapping into their leadership qualities.
My students leaves school full of joy ready to share all the new skills they learned; Kindergarten is the foundation and set the stage for a lifetime of learning .
I want this feeling to stay with them each and everyday they come to school.
My mission as a teacher is to make sure I am magnifying the brilliance in every student that walks through the school. In my classroom I believe in encouraging all students to be their authentic self and letting them know they have limitless potential.
My Project
All the materials and resources I am requesting for the classroom will ensure all my students are learning in a culturally relevant space. Reading helps us in every subject. I plan to read books that includes all cultures so students can relate themselves to characters in the text. Having phonics manipulatives will also enhance their level of thinking. As well as give students different access of learning to meet every students needs.
I want my kinder babies to leave Kindergarten with confidence that their future will be bright because their foundation of learning was strong !
I want to push my students to succeed not only academically but socially-emotionally as well. Having a sensory center will allow my students to develop their fine motor skills, cognitive skills ,and to have a place to cool down when necessary. Especially after a pandemic year SEL is super important to implement all throughout the students learning.
