This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am fortunate to be the teacher of an amazing group of 5th graders! They are compassionate, empathetic, caring, creative, and hard-working little learners.

Our students come from a variety of backgrounds, however, the impact of rising rents in the area has caused some families to struggle in supplying their child with much-needed supplies.

Our principal is supportive in providing us with materials we need but the budget can only go so far. With your help, we can provide our students with some of the essentials they need to help enrich their learning and provides an environment that meets the needs of all learners.

My Project

Some fifth graders begin to experience changes that come with adolescence. Being aware of their changing bodies can be new for many of them.

Students will have access to deodorant and/or sanitary napkins discreetly whenever they need them.

Oftentimes, children are caught off guard and unsure about how to attain the items they need, especially while they are in school. As students begin to experience changes that come with adolescence, some girls, for example, are not prepared or are caught off guard when experiencing their first and subsequent menses and struggle with getting what they need quickly and discreetly. By having these materials ready for them, they will have the supplies they need when they need them.
