Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a diverse, low-income community of children with a high population of English language learners and students with special needs. I am currently supporting 20 students with specific learning disabilities including dyslexia at our school. My caseload ranges from sixth to eighth grade students with the need for intensive foundational reading instruction.

Despite all that’s happening, my students are resilient and doing their best.

Their drive for success inspires me to be a better teacher to ensure that I am meeting their needs.

My Project

My students need basic supplies to help them finish this school year strong! I want to be able to provide them with school supplies so they have one less thing to worry about. My students are in need of pencils, erasers, pencil pouches, magnetic tiles, whiteboard erasers, and a sharpener in order to complete daily reading assignments, stay organize, and germs-free.

This school year has been very different and filled with anxiety, but having all the supplies needed will help ease our day and make it more productive.

The supplies will be used daily during their reading intervention period.
