Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My sixth grade students call themselves the Barrier Breakers. They have learned to overcome obstacles as they set and reach their academic goals. They live in a working class community in Southern California. Some of my students are English language learners. Others have special needs. One thing they have in common is that they are determined to excel against all odds. They break barriers!
They are enthusiastic about learning.
They work hard and seek help when they need it. Our goal is to ensure that we equip them with the skills and tools they need to succeed.
My Project
This flu season has hit us hard. We have had students miss valuable learning time because they have been out sick. Sometimes they come to school sick. We need to keep our classroom clean and as germ free as possible.
Children cannot learn if they are not here!
We need Lysol spray to keep a clean environment to avoid spreading germs. We also need wipes to clean up spills. We serve breakfast in the classroom and we get a limited supply of cleaning materials.
Your donation will ensure that we have a clean classroom and hopefully less kids getting sick. Healthy students are happy students!
