This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kindergarten students are full of joy, excitement, and an eagerness for learning. I have so much fun teaching and learning with them. Our school is 92% economically disadvantaged and 79% English Learners. My class is a diverse mix of students, including English Learners, students receiving special education services, gifted and talented students, and students from around the world.

My students have unique personalities, and they're all very sweet and caring toward others.

They work well with others who are different than themselves. Thank you in advance for helping me provide the best educational experience for my very deserving students.

My Project

This project will provide white board paddles for students to show their answer during our virtual class meetings. The white boards also have rekenreks for hands-on math practice, including counting, adding, and subtracting. I requested a couple books to add to the limited collection of books I have at home for virtual read-alouds. I will be able to send materials, including watercolors, white board paddles, and flash cards to my individual students at their homes.

I can't imagine the adverse affects kindergarten age students are experiencing while social distancing.

They are at the age where collaboration and communication with peers is so crucial to their development. My students will be so excited to receive new materials to aid them in At-Home Learning. Thank you!
