My Students

My students are resilient, proud, and determined English language learners who have been in the country, at most, a year, thriving in the class with interactive, engaging activities which take them out of their comfort zone in a positive, but academic way. Every morning is a new adventure in their lives that builds their confidence to use English more among their native English-speaking peers.

They are my inspiring warriors!

Most of my students have no assistance at home with reinforcing the English language that they've learned in class, due to limited resources. The Eastbank of Louisiana is where our school is located. This area was recently impacted by hurricane Ida and now services families who live in all parts of the capital city, New Orleans. These families have come from far and wide to make a better life for their families in the United States. While also entrusting me to make their student(s) transition into mainstream learning, smooth and productive.

My students are perseverant through the varied learning styles of their peers and provide their best efforts in keeping up with the assignments thrown their way. I admire their tenacity each day.

My Project

Students have been growing accustomed to wearing masks during this day and age. My students do not have the opportunity to pick which style of mask that they would like to wear. This project will create such a choice for them.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student safety and focus, but you will also ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether their masks are going to come off or not.
