This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

All of my students are eager to learn in the classroom, but they need the essential tools to get them to succeed. It is difficult for my students to stay focused in the classroom if they are not equipped with the essential tools.

My students this school year are third graders that range in age from 8 and 9 years old.

I have 32 students in my classroom. The majority of my students are Hispanic, but I do have a few students that are black or white. I work at a title 1 school. I work with students who come from families that are low income. We are a high performing school with an A label.

My Project

I am requesting pencils because my students write everyday. I am requesting a durable, quiet pencil sharpener because we need a good sharpener for sharpening pencils. I am requesting copy paper because I need paper to make copies of reading passages for my students to read everyday since they do not have books at home to read and also for worksheets for them to practice Language Arts and Math skills. I am requesting the study carrels in order for students to have durable privacy during testing time. I am requesting dry erase markers because my students have dry erase boards and we use them daily for practicing grammar or math skills. They are fully engaged with white boards. I am requesting a cd/mp3 player because I need it for my listening center. Students will use this for listening to reading passages or books in order to help them with reading fluency and comprehension.

In order for my students to be successful in the classroom, I need them to have the necessary tools for learning.

My students can not learn to their full potential if I do not equip them with the essential tools they need to learn.
