Essential Tools for Learning in Social Studies

Help me give my students books, a wireless keyboard, monitors, and other tools for a well-equipped and well-managed classroom. An organized and efficient classroom environment is conducive in student learning.

FULLY FUNDED! Mr. V. Branch's classroom raised $721

My Students

My students are from an inner city, Title I school. They attend a school where 100% of the students receive free lunch and approximately 40% of the students are homeless. My students are eager to learn the game of softball and be competitive in our state.

Many of my students live in high poverty communities.

Oftentimes, the tools we need or would like are not always within the budget of our parents, school, or teachers. It is my desire to provide my students with an equitable education experience regardless of our limited resources.

My Project

The items in this project will help me facilitate the learning process for my students. The project items requested are tools to create classroom projects, check for student understanding, and manage the flow of instruction.

Having the right tools available can add to student engagement and effective classroom management.

The buzzers add a fun way to check for understanding. The paper cutter, power strips, lanyard hall passes, and monitors will minimize distractions and maximize instructional time. The wireless keyboard will give me flexibility to move about the classroom and still interact with the smartboard. Mobility enables me to monitor student progress and behavior by proximity. The books will serve as a resource to extend the learning of my personal finance students. The book, Rich Dad Poor Dad, was written especially for students of the middle income and poor families our school serves.
