Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from diverse backgrounds and immerse themselves daily in the cultures of their peers through learning two languages (English and Spanish).

Our students strive for academic excellence in both languages in all academic subjects which makes them very unique.

Each child brings something special to the classroom through their experiences and areas of expertise. They make our school an exceptional place to be through their determination to be successful academically while embracing the many cultures that come together within our walls.

My Project

This school year is proving to be completely new and different for teachers and students alike. As we gear up to start a new year, the basic schools supplies are needing to be replaced with crucial items to support a hybrid learning model.

Hybrid learning requires that all students have equitable access to lessons and learning through the use of optimal tools.

The 360 degree Owl Labs camera will allow for students who are virtually learning to watch live lessons as if they are physically sitting within the classroom. In this way, they can not only see the teacher and the lesson being taught but they can see peers sharing their ideas in real time. This is very important for hybrid learning because students will be learning half at home and half in school and the more normal a day a child can have the better. This camera will help bring the classroom to life at home for the students who are virtual on any given day.

The document camera will allow for a quick and easy way to share and display work to students in class and at home. It will also help in quickly scanning resources and providing them digitally for students to access at any point in time. Lastly, the microphone will help in ensuring that students can clearly hear what the teacher says as well as other students. It will also be useful for creating audio recordings of books or math videos which students will use regularly during this school year.
