Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As an English as a New Language (ENL) teacher, I work with a diverse group of high school students who are eager to learn and thrive in a new language environment. My students come from various cultural backgrounds and face the challenge of mastering English while adapting to a new educational system.
To support their growth, I’m seeking resources that will enhance both their language development and classroom engagement.
Headphones will help students focus during language activities and assessments, while Mr. Sketch markers and whiteboards will make interactive lessons more dynamic. A timer will help manage activities efficiently, promoting time management skills.
I also want to create personalized vocabulary lists that students can keep at their desks, using picture frames, binder rings, and cardstock. These tools will reinforce daily language practice, making learning more accessible. Additionally, Spanish-to-English dictionaries will be invaluable for my newcomer students, helping bridge the language gap and building their confidence.
