This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a Title 1 Dual Immersion School with 55 students in St. George, Utah. My fifth grade students and I are both excited and blessed to learn and come to school everyday. Most of my students are hard working language learners who utilize technology, collaborations, discussion, as well as other online resources and classroom strategies to grow and develop as young learners.

With education changing and developing with an emphasis on technology, my students are learning and progressing academically with the assistance of technology, in addition to the traditional, hands-on instruction.

My students are capable, intelligent, and successful!

My Project

These materials will provide my students necessary seating during small reading groups in the classroom. My students are capable language learners, progressing every single day in the classroom, however, we currently don't have enough seating in the classroom for groups of students to fit around my teacher table to read with me and further develop reading skills.

This small group time is essential because it ensures my students are reading and becoming fluent in literacy, language, and reading.

This time also allows students to spend crucial time interacting with academic language, forms of literature, and each other.
