Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The items that are being asked would make a difference in my students' learning as newcomer students' learning when they are retaining information on colorful paper, writing down notes, and new vocabulary and its definition in their notebooks. I have noted that colored paper also helps students perform well when they have to create a final product on a writing assignment or reflection.

The goal of this project is to provide notebooks, pens, copy paper, etc, to further their learning since it has shown an increase in learning when they have these items knowing they don't buy materials for school while being newly arrived immigrants which our school help newly arrive students to transition NY Public schools with varied supports in and outside of the classroom.

My students are special not only due to being newly arrived to the U.S. but they are the future citizens in this country. They are going to be learning so many different things in our school that they can take to the next grade or school or community.
