My Students
A typical day in our classroom is full of busy active learning. We have many different learners in our classroom and each student has different learning needs. We are trying a new intervention in our classroom to use essential oils to help our brain grow.
My kindergarten students love learning and are excited to be in school each day.
As the school year has progressed, so have the expectations and degree of difficulty for our learning standards. At our school we focus on using classroom interventions to meet the varying student needs. I attended a workshop to gain information on how I can use essential oils to promote focus, attention, and learning. Although each student comes to school with so many other concerns on their minds, they are still expected to maintain focus on their task and role as a student. For many kindergrtners, I see that the common core standards causes increased pressure in which these little ones have trouble managing all the stress. I also have many students absent a lot due to illness. I would like to use the oils to boost immunity so that they do not miss out on essential learning activities.
My Project
I currently tried a few essential oils in my classroom diffuser and it seemed to help with their behavior, focus, and attention. I learned how other oils can also help with attention as well as build immunity. The materials I am requesting comprises of various essential oils that can foster brain development and improve immunity. Depending on the time of day, certain oils can improve energy and balance to help the students focus on learning. We will use the oils in our diffuser to help support this need.
Essential oils in the classroom will help my students maintain focus and attention so that they can learn the essential skills for kindergarten and be successful learners in the future.
It will change their lives by providing an intervention to manage stress, maintain calmness, increase concentration, and boost immunity so that learning will be possible in our class.
