My Students
Do you remember how your sixth grade classroom smelled? My classroom usually does not have the best aroma. However, my hope is to have a fragrant room that is not only good on the nose, but more importantly will benefit my student's minds, bodies and overall well being.
My class is an E-STEM class; we are set on 40 acres with our own nature center.
My students are excited about the environment and learning more about it. I have a diverse population in my class, with students representing many cultures and countries.
My Project
Essential oils have proved to have lower stress levels and be able to better deal with the stress that students are subjected to throughout the day. Essential oils help not only maintain a calm atmosphere in the classroom -- but help students stay focused -- particularly in the afternoon, when their attention tends to shift easily. I plan on using these diffusers and essential oils to optimize learning and create a balanced atmosphere.
I plan on using these oils and diffusers to better the day to day environment in our classroom.
After lunch, I plan on placing some lavender in the diffusers as this oil has a calming and relaxing effect. While giving an exam to my students, I will diffuse some sage, which stimulates the mind, together with some tangerine, which calms nervousness. To help my students combat sickness, I will diffuse Purification or Thieves to help boost their immune system to keep them from missing class.
