I tell my students to barf every day. When they come to school, I ask them right away, "Did you barf last night?" I am happy to report that most tell me they did. WAIT. I should explain. In my class, BARF stands for Become A Reading Fanatic. I strive to help each student become a reading fanatic, or at the very least, a fan of reading. I know that if they enjoy reading, they will have an upper hand in life (it's true- there are lots of statistics that prove it).
