This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work at a STEM magnet middle school in Indiana. This means that my students chose to come to our school to learn more about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

My seventh and eighth graders come from all around the city to form a community where we focus on our core values of rigor, community, relationships, and drive.

My students come from diverse cultures and experiences, and some overcome significant obstacles to succeed at our school. In their two short years with us, they come in as young pre-teens and develop into teenagers prepared to flourish in high school!

My Project

We are lucky enough to have one-to-one laptops at my middle school for the first time this year. My students are responsible for their computers at home and at school which means sometimes pieces get lost in transit. When they come without an important piece of equipment, it could impact their ability to engage in the day's lesson.

I am requesting 150 pairs of black ear buds to have available for my students when they forget theirs at home.

I have about 120 students so this would last me the whole year and keep my students learning!!
