Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have multiple cultural background, and speak at least two languages. They face a lot of challenges in their everyday lives both at school and at home.

Limited English Language skills make it very hard for most of my students to achieve academic success.

They have to work twice as hard as native English Language speakers. Developing strong reading skills is the key to expand their vocabulary, improve spelling and writing.

My goal is to help them exit ESL program and transition to a regular classroom.

My Project

My ESL classrooms consist of students with a wide range of abilities. In order to deliver differentiated instruction we are using a web-based computer adaptive program that identifies needs and adjusts to each student's abilities. Therefore we need to use chromebooks almost every day.

Chromebooks will help my students make greater gains in overall reading ability.

My students will also be able to produce and publish writing assignments which is an essential 21st-century skill for all students. Chromebooks will allow me to check the progress each student has made, give instant feedback, redirect if necessary and keep them all on track.
