This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love to learn and do hands on activities. Our school is the first dual language Montessori school in the state of Wisconsin. We are located in the city of Milwaukee where our students come from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Our program helps the students learn both Spanish and English.

The Montessori methodology believes in helping students learn the necessary skills to navigate our society by working with manipulatives and doing hands-on activities.

Students are given the liberty to explore the world and what it has to offer by using the skills they've learned in the classroom.

My Project

Since we are a new Dual Language Montessori School, we need more Spanish resources so the students are able to do their explorations and research, from animals, to history and art. Some students have been doing research about corals, others about dolphins but most of the school's books are in English. These books will be in the classroom for them to use whenever they want.

I'd like to teach the students some embroidery and book making, that way, if they wish, they can showcase whatever topic they are researching on in Spanish through arts and crafts.
