This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My wonderful English language learners hail from many points on the globe. They come from countries such as Mexico, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Vietnam, Cambodia, Dominican Republic, and US territories like the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. They are grouped in grades K through 8th.

Coming to a new country is a daunting and challenging experience, especially for those who don't know the language.

Despite the challenges my English language learners are eager to learn and acquire the skills they need to succeed.

My Project

My English as a Second Language students are a wonderful group of students who find themselves in the situation of learning a new language in a strange land. Learning a new language entails involving listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

In order to address those vital skills, students access the computer to work in various programs which require the use of a headset with microphone.

With this equipment they are able to able to work on their listening and speaking skills while also engaging in reading and writing.

My students look forward to being able to fully make use of their technology to enhance their English as a Second Language skills.
