My Students

At our school, we have the Dual Language Immersion program or Spanish Immersion K-6. My 3-6 grade students have struggled in gaining proficiency in Spanish during soft closure, hybrid schedule, and remote learning. Canvas does not provide the environment most conducive to gaining language proficiency.

Students need to be able to hear the language modeled and to speak it often to increase their oral language proficiency.

They also need to receive feedback from their teacher on their oral language in order to improve.

My Project

Up to now students have not been able to effectively listen and speak Spanish when learning at home.

Students will be able to speak and listen to Spanish in school and at home if we are on remote learning.

Students can speak Spanish and record themselves then send it to their teacher for feedback.

The headphones will allow students to use software programs that provide student interaction where they speak into the microphone and the software program gives them feedback. Not all students had appropriate headphones with microphones available for use in the past.
