Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are hungry, not only for the food in the cafeteria, but also for the lessons in their books.
I teach a 2nd grade classroom in a low-income neighborhood in Chicago.
My students range from early to advanced readers, but nothing sparks their interest more than a great book. My students come in ready to learn and have a never-ending love for knowledge.
My Project
Students will be practicing their reading skills that are taught in class as well as escape to new and exciting places by reading a great book. Whether it's independent reading or guided reading, my students will grow and continue to be great scholars and that can all happen with just cracking open a great book.
By having a wide range of leveled books in my classroom my students will grow and advance in their respective reading levels.
Nothing breaks my heart more than my students telling me that we don't have enough leveled books in our library. My students are obsessed with reading and I want to quench that thirst for knowledge with having a wide range of books for their respective reading levels.
