This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Finding new and creative ways to present information to students can be challenging. Additionally, helping engage them in utilizing and applying the information they have learned can be an even greater challenge. It has always been my dream to provide students with a game based way of obtaining new knowledge and applying the knowledge they they have used through inquiry and gaming.
Escape Rooms are a great way to exercise logical thinking skills and learning to work collaboratively - why shouldn't we introduce them into the classroom?
By gamifying learning, students are being engaged in learning, working to solve complex puzzles in collaboration with peers, and also receiving that fun entertainment aspect, that so many students continuously seek today.
While setting up escape room games in the classroom require a plethora of materials, these tool boxes are the first step in introducing them to a world of historical inquiry and questioning through gaming!
