This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a 7th grade Math teacher. My students come from a variety of socioeconomic, as well as cultural backgrounds. Every year I teach an average of 130-150 students who are doing their best to get through those middle school years. Some are extremely successful, and others need a little more help, but all are crucial to building our school into the great school it has become.

The students I see every day are eager to learn and grow.

They push themselves and I get to see them challenge themselves more than they thought they could. The best thing a teacher can witness is to see their students grow and mature throughout the year.

My Project

Every teacher and parent wants their child to WANT to go to school. I want to bring fun into my Math and Science classrooms by incorporating an Escape Room scenario into the classroom. By adding challenging logic puzzles, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration into the the classroom with these Breakout kits, I hope to do just that.

Imagine bringing the excitement and thrill of an Escape Room into the classroom while still meeting the needs of the curriculum.

Each kit comes with a wide variety of locks and resources that can be set up in the classroom to create an "Escape Room" type of environment. Students will be given clues and problems that they will need to solve in order to open boxes to the next set of clues all while working on the standards of the curriculum.
