Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are 1st generation college-bound 10th graders. Our school is situated in a low-socioeconomic area with many students coming from impoverished homes. Despite their economic challenges, these students persevere. They work hard and value education as a means to improve their future.

My students are the future of STEM based careers.

They are the curious minds that will be the engineers, doctors, researchers, and innovators of tomorrow. Creating material that students authentically learn from through distance learning takes crafting and manipulating of labs and work products into digital learning materials. Live demonstrations and presentations are a necessary component of learning science from home.

My students are not just challenging themselves academically, but they are building character by volunteering, joining sports, music, and drama activities.

My Project

Spending hours online creating distance learning friendly presentations and searching up resources takes it's toll on the wrists and eyes. Materials need to be ready for students to learn from in the absence of being in the physical classroom.

Students need to be exposed to authentic learning experiences through distance learning.

Teachers are searching, modifying, and creating new materials to help students learn beyond the confines of the classroom.

Eye strain and wrist pain decrease online productivity and affects the work products that can be produced for students to use for distance learning.
