Ergonomic Seating Options

Help me give my students some more options for seating. Traditional chairs used in classrooms are not very ergonomic. These will be added to the seating choices I have available in my classroom.

My Students

I'm a computer science teacher and have the unique opportunity to work with students from numerous groups. I have basketball players, swimmers, student council, band kids, orchestra players, gamers, and kids from all the "cliques" you could probably think of in a high school. What is unique about the group that hangs out in my classroom, however, is that they have all come together under the gaming & esports club. Students who otherwise wouldn't have had the opportunity to know each other have discovered their shared passion with someone from another "clique" and are making unlikely yet strong friendships.

My Project

In my classroom, I mostly have the traditional plastic seats. I have a computer classroom and with more devices being used by students daily, it is important to give them additional options to choose from. This not only helps with their comfort, but their posture, health, and ability to focus. I was able to find a couch at a local store for an affordable price as well as some balance stools that really help those who need additional movement. These chairs will add to the array of choices I am building for my students to choose from while also providing ergonomic options for the students in my gaming and esport club. They will be well used and well loved.
