This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I would like to encourage my students to embrace current technology and learn to love the ease of reading e-books. The Kindle Fire will open the door to endless possibilities for reading and educational apps.

My school serves economically disadvantaged students in a poor community with the majority on free or reduced lunch.

Although they come from this background, they are eager to learn each and everyday. They inspire me to help them reach beyond their limitations and fulfill their dreams.

My Project

My students need two Kindle Fires to have access to e-books and apps that will increase their comprehension, vocabulary, and problem solving skills. I would like my students to engage in apps that will increase their reading comprehension, vocabulary, and problem solving skills. They will be able to access e-books individually and in small reading groups. The Kindle Fire will also allow access to many more books without the fear of damage or students losing them, thus providing the enjoyment for many more students.

Knowledge of technology is required for students to be successful in today's world.

Unfortunately, many of my students do not have computers or Internet access at home. I hope to provide them with the opportunity to see that not all technology is out of their reach. The Kindle Fire will take them on new adventures, allow them to explore new places, and learn through the use of e-books and educational apps.
