Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The visuals in the Phonics Books, Moon Dog series, will benefit the diverse, multi-language population of students to help them make context clue connections and improve their language skills.
By donating to this project, you will play a huge role in helping multi-language students become more proficient in their decoding, vocabulary development, and overall comprehension.
I selected the Moon Dog series because I believe the phonics skills targeted in the series, align closely with the scope and sequence of the literacy program we use in intervention sessions. Our older students will appreciate reading a book with characters, plot, and setting over reading a one-page passage with no visuals. Also, the characters in the story are close to the age range of students I work with so they will be able to relate more to the stories and characters.
