Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is located in Chicago and has just over 500 students. Our student population is comprised of 90% Hispanic and 98% low-income students. My students love to be active, learn new skills, and learn about the body!

However, my students face statistical challenges as a population of having one of the highest obesity rates in the country!

As a physical education teacher and coach, I know the positive impact that physical activity has on kids!

My Project

The materials I am requesting will have uses and benefits for the pre-K student in physical education. We are currently teaching hybrid and I am having numerous issues with my computer. Presentations and videos lag causing a disruption in learning and less time for students to be active. Additionally, interacting with students has been challenging due to these same issues.

Having a new computer will drastically improve my ability to teach and interact with pre-k students!

The computer will be used for recording students' skills, stream music, record data, and to motivate students to exercise during physical education classes. I have also added a hub to connect a projector to enhance the students' learning experience!
