My Students
I love to be able to see the growth of my students over the course of the school year, over a few months, and even the day to day improvements that they make. The students in my care come from a variety of backgrounds and cultures and bring with them a rich tapestry of new ideas and skills. My students and their parents have high economic needs but are always willing to lend a hand to others. Their selflessness inspires me to continue giving to those in need.
Being able to express themselves through art, drawing, and writing is a fundamental right of every student, no matter what their background is.
My Project
Online learning, although innovative and dynamic, creates a gap in some of the most important skills in kindergarten and first grade. Fine motor skills, which include coloring, cutting, gluing, and writing, are negatively impacted by the use of computers. Because of the COVID-19 global pandemic, our students are learning virtually at home.
Some of our students still do not have access to a functioning printer at home.
Those students lose out on valuable practice time to cut, color, glue, and write on worksheets.
Your assistance will allow these 6 families to be able to print materials at home to continue working on their fine motor skills.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
