Let's end the stereotype that inner city schools can't compete with suburban schools! All students are capable. My second graders can and will grow up to become smart, valued citizens of their community. One way to attain this goal is to give my students the basic skills needed drive them to next step in their academic career. The need for students to be able to do more than memorize math facts is apparent. I want my students to be able to understand the how and why of mathematics in order to help them to move on to higher level mathematical thinking.
