This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help us transform our classroom into a dynamic space for learning and problem-solving with the Building Thinking Classrooms framework! With your support, we aim to create an environment where every student can thrive and develop critical thinking and math skills.
Our project focuses on equipping our classroom with the tools needed for an innovative approach to learning and teamwork.
To complement this, we need a the outlined materials:
Expo Markers will help students work collaboratively on their non-permanent vertical white space. Playing cards will help us quickly assign visibly random and diverse student groups, promoting teamwork. Chart tape will set up grids and sections on the whiteboards for organized problem-solving. To maintain our VNPS, magnetic cleaning cloths will keep the Wipeboards clean, ensuring smooth transitions between tasks. Dice will enhance fluency practice, with bags to store them and dice trays to keep the area organized. To make our VNPS visually appealing and encourage engagement, we will use bulletin border to cover the edges. Dry erase marker holders will keep markers and cards organized. Each group will have a 12qt storage container for their manipulatives, ensuring materials are orderly and accessible. Our goals are to enhance engagement by providing tools for students to visualize and share their thinking, foster collaboration through flexible grouping, and improve problem-solving skills with hands-on materials. Organized storage will minimize distractions and maximize learning time, creating a welcoming and exciting classroom environment.
