Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The items I am requesting include school supplies and tools that will enhance my AVID students' learning experiences by providing them with the necessary resources to excel in the classroom. The pencils, notebook paper, and erasers will serve as foundational elements that facilitate effective note-taking. When students are collaborating within groups, they will utilize the chart paper and markers to create presentations. By ensuring that each student has access to these material, we can eliminate barriers to learning and create an equitable environment where all students have the opportunity to succeed.

My goal for this project encompasses both short-term and long-term objectives.

My short-term goal is to support my AVID students by supplying them with the essential tools they need to thrive academically. This includes equipping them with high-quality materials that foster engagement, productivity, and confidence in their abilities. Additionally, I seek to cultivate a sense of ownership and responsibility among my students, encouraging them to take pride in their education and invest in their own learning journey.

Looking ahead, my long-term goals for this project extend beyond the classroom walls. I aspire to empower my AVID students with the skills, knowledge, and resources they need to pursue their academic and career aspirations with confidence and determination.

As a first year AVID Coordinator, I really want to emphasize the importance of having supplies in the classroom for students who need them. Our students are resilient, determined and show an unwavering commitment to their education. Together, my students and I will create a community dedicated to excellence, growth, and mutual support.
