My Project
At our high school, my AP Biology and AP Environmental Science students are passionate about learning but face significant challenges. Many of our students come from low-income households and belong to minority communities, making it difficult for them to afford essential tools like scientific calculators. In these advanced courses, calculators play a crucial role in data analysis, ecosystem modeling, and conducting complex lab experiments. Without them, students struggle to fully engage with the material and miss out on developing key problem-solving skills.
By funding a class set of scientific calculators, you will help level the playing field for my students, ensuring that all of them—regardless of their financial situation—have access to the resources necessary for success.
These calculators will not only assist with immediate coursework but also prepare students for future STEM opportunities by building their confidence and competence in handling scientific data.
