Academic concepts can be challenging enough on their own, especially for students with intellectual and developmental delays. When basic school supplies add extra frustration, it can make learning feel overwhelming, and students feel defeated. My students need basic school supplies that are adaptive materials to support fine motor development and encourage independence in my students. In our classroom, tasks like gluing, coloring, and highlighting can be incredibly difficult without the right tools. Many of my students struggle with hand strength and coordination. Adaptive school supplies will reduce barriers in learning, and students can work independently, increasing their self-esteem. Traditional basic school supplies cause frustration, and students get tired easily. Adaptive scissors, crayons, and erasable highlighters will encourage success and meet their fine motor skills.
Fine motor challenges combined with high academic standards can lead to tantrums and meltdowns.
Adaptive school supplies will reduce barriers and increase academic and social success, and eliminate frustrations in daily tasks.
Your generosity will help my students engage with academic tasks with more confidence and more independence.
