My Students

It's 2010 and all of us know the frustration of working on a project on one PC and not being able to access it from another PC. Or even worse--losing some of the work you do on a computer because you didn't save it or lack privileges.

Students at our urban school in Colorado are diverse--socioeconomically, ethnicity and abilities.

Our school is also home to a couple of "center programs" where emotionally disturbed and moderate/intensive special ed kids are integrated into "mainstream" classrooms. Our PYP Programme emphasizes lifelong learning and focuses our inquiries into various themes like: Sharing the Planet, Who We Are in Place & Time, How We Express Ourselves, etc. We strive to create compassionate, contributing global citizens!

My Project

We're requesting one digital camera as well as multiple 4GB flash drives for use by our staff and students. We document actions and work products on the part of our students as part of the PYP Action Cycle--choose, act and reflect. Teachers commit to displaying evidence of student learning throughout the school year and maintaining student portfolios that capture some of this as well.

The flash drives and camera will help us document in a more inclusive manner the evidence of student learning in our amazingly creative school community!

Preserving student work and the ability to transfer work to multiple computers will be SO helpful!
