Help me give my students equipment to provide opportunities to develop their movement, balancing, dribbling, and striking skills with scooters, stilts, paddles, and more.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have the privilege of teaching physical education to students in grades Pre-kindergarten to 2nd grade at a Title I school in the Bronx. My students love to engage in physical activity and enjoy learning new skills in my physical education class.
In order to increase learning through skill practice in PE, we need more equipment to provide diverse movement opportunities for students to engage.
This equipment will help me provide my students with opportunities to build their movement skills while learning movement concepts. The range of equipment requested will help support building a well-rounded and high-quality PE program for students. Scooters will be used to build students’ muscular strength and endurance, domes and stilts will be used to teach balance, and playground balls will be used to develop a range of movement skills like throwing, catching, and dribbling.
