My Students

I teach in a school with more than fifty percent being low-income families. This year my second grade students are split into two-hybrid groups, because of COVID-19. One group comes to school two days a week and then are remote learners the other days. The second group is 100% online.

My students and I are so excited to be back in our "new" learning environments.

They've expressed how much they have missed school, their friends, and their teachers. I want my full-time online students to have the most authentic experience that I can give them.

My Project

I would like to get a Swivl camera for my classroom. A Swivl camera would allow me to record my lessons with my "in class" students so that I can share them with the online students. Swivl cameras have a microphone that activates the motion of the camera when you talk. This will allow me to move around the classroom as I teach, rather than standing in a remote spot for a stationary camera.

Students learn best when actively involved in their learning.

I need to be able to move around to facilitate, as they are learning and exploring. The Swivl camera will move with me, as I do just that!
