Help me give my students personal, basic school supplies of their own such as pencils, crayons, glue, pencil cases, etc. Having their own supplies will help learning whether remote or in school.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
“We know that equality of individual ability has never existed and never will, but we do insist that equality of opportunity still must be sought". - Franklin D. Roosevelt
My second and third grade students attend a progressive Title I elementary school in New York City.
They come from different backgrounds and have diverse heritages and experiences. They attend a dual-language (English and Spanish) school and are in an ICT setting.
We ensure that this happens by giving them project time where children use their creativity to explore the materials in our classroom setting. Through this exploration they not only take ownership of their own learning but also build confidence in themselves when completed.
My Project
I teach in NYC, the initial epicenter of the COVID 19 crisis in the United States. We are about to reopen our school system and I would like to have my students return to a classroom that has all of the materials they need while also maintaining social distance. Although some families have opted to work remotely, students still need the tools to be able to succeed as well as take mental breaks and explore their creativity from home.
I strongly believe that once students are given the appropriate resources, they have the ability to maximize their learning while resting assure the classroom community is safe and unified.
It would greatly help my class to have all of the students with basic supplies to call their own such as crayons, pencils, glue etc. Whether children are in school or working from home, the goal is to give each child the opportunity to have the same materials. These troubling times have hit us all differently and students should be able to expect to have the supplies they need whether in their homes or in their class. By personalizing these materials for the students, we minimize contact with shared materials and limit the spread of COVID - 19.
We would very much appreciate any help you can give us to receive these materials.
