This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school district has done a great job of providing students with access to fun interactive educational programs online. However, students lack the proper equipment to take full advantage of the programs. Everyday students are giving time in class to complete lessons specifically tailored to their learning needs. Unfortunately, they don’t have headphones needed to work on the programs in class. Twenty eight students working on a program giving them verbal directions and reading aloud all at the same time is not ideal. This makes it difficult for students to fully take advantage and concentrate on their lessons.

Having headphones for home and school can give students equity by providing them with access to education through technology.

Headphones at home can allow students to use the digital platforms at home as well. Most students are learning to use their district provided Chromebook however, dragging and dropping can sometimes be challenging. I am asking for help giving my students a leg up by providing them with mouse pads and computer mouse to help them make this task easier. When students are working on putting together PowerPoint presentations and taking a test, dragging and dropping can be difficult without the right tools. Headphones and a computer mouse are a vital piece to being able to use the digital platforms.
