Equal Access in Mrs. Cauley's Class

Help me give my students access to today's technology with these Lenovo Chromebooks. More than half of our classwork is online and many students do not have internet access or devices to work on at home.

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are learning to be critical thinkers in a diverse community. Our school fosters a culture that encourages and supports inquiry based learning. Our classroom is filled with engaging discovery sessions.

Their love for learning is impressive and I want to keep encouraging that passion going as they become lifelong learners.

Their favorite activities include the use of mobile devices such as tablets or Chromebooks where we take our learning outside of the four walls of the classroom. My students love taking their learning on-the-go!

My Project

e use school issued tablets in our classroom almost everyday but they are not enough devices to assign to each classroom. Some of my students' families cannot afford mobile devices. I want to provide equal access to devices in my classroom for those students. They will be able to submit their assignments and projects with ease. They can take that quiz before heading home and immediately know their score.

Simply put- I do not want a student feeling embarrassed about lacking of access to a mobile device at home.

My job as their teacher is to ensure they have everything needed to be successful in my class. With these 5 tablets, my students can avoid missing due dates and submit their assignments on time (or even early). Mostly the tablets will used for accessing Google Classroom but we will also use various apps to make our inquiry-based lessons even more engaging. No more planning lessons around device availability! We could use tablets every single day.
