This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Preschool students, especially those with disabilities and from low-income communities, greatly benefit from having access to iPads and learning apps. These tools provide engaging, interactive experiences that support early learning, communication, and skill development in ways traditional methods cannot.
For children with disabilities, iPads serve as essential learning aids.
Many students with speech delays, autism, or fine motor challenges struggle to communicate and engage with traditional learning materials. iPads with speech-to-text apps, visual learning tools, and interactive games help bridge these gaps, allowing children to express themselves, follow instructions, and build foundational skills in literacy and math.
In low-income communities, many students do not have access to technology at home. Providing iPads in the classroom ensures they are exposed to the digital tools that will be essential in their education and future careers. Learning apps make lessons more accessible, offering personalized instruction that adapts to each child's pace and needs.
Additionally, iPads encourage independence and engagement. Many preschoolers learn best through hands-on activities, and touch-screen technology makes it easier for them to interact with lessons, practice problem-solving, and develop early literacy skills. For children with sensory processing challenges, iPads provide a structured, visually engaging way to learn without overwhelming stimuli.
By integrating iPads and learning apps into our preschool classroom, we are giving our students the tools they need to succeed, ensuring that every child—regardless of ability or background—has an equal opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
