Epson: Toner to Print It

My students need toner so that we can continue to use our Epson printer to display all our work in color.

My Students

We really love our Epson printer, but we desperately need the ink to print out our work in color so that we can proudly share what we have created.

My fifth grade New York City public school students are motivated enthusiastic learners.

The beauty of our class is our diversity and the many languages and cultures we share. The international nature of our school community is recognized as one of the most diverse in the nation. We live in the borough of Queens and our parents have very high expectations of their children. When the children work on their projects we like to make sure they can print them out on our Epson color printer. The work is a source of pride for our families and the expense of printing in color often makes it impossible to do that at home. The classroom is the place where we generate our work and so it would be nice to have extra toner to print color copies to send home and to display in school.

My Project

Ink for printers is expensive and at the rate we print, cartridges don't last very long. Printing, however, is a necessity and so we do the best we can and sometimes don't print everything we would like to display just so we don't run out of ink. The color and black ink cartridges we are requesting would be a major addition to demonstrating what we have learned as we engage in project based learning. Ink cartridges are consumables and won't be used by students in the future, but those cartridges are essential to the daily function of a classroom. We'd love to have enough cartridges for the entire year but their high cost have tapered our request to one that is more modest. One set of color cartridges along with one black ink cartridge would last for a few months, enough to see us through some major project deadlines.

We see and dream in color, so we'd like to print in color as well.

It would be such a wonderful gift if we could have this proposal funded so that we could enjoy and display our projects. We are working on a hydroponics unit, writing and photographing our plants as they grow. It would be so nice to send home color copies of our findings to families so they can appreciate the work their children have completed. We can't wait to keep it colorful and say, "Print it."
